CLL survival times ARE improving, thanks to BTK and BCL-2 inhibitors

My chemo experience
Subsequent treatments (the next 4 months) were
bendamustine
and rituximab intravenous drips. No problems at all. The prognosis for
bendamustine
isn't as good as fludarabine - the likely effective period being 4 or 5 years as opposed to 15 years for fludarabine, but thats life.

Diagnosed with CLL March 2022
I did
Bendamustine
and Rituxan. After my first treatment I was put in the hospital for a high temperature and very low wbc’s and neutrophils. I also had an allergic reaction to the Allupurinol they give you before chemo. They cut my
bendamustine
dose in half after that.

CLL relapse
She is taking
Bendamustine
monotherapy and was in remission about 3 years after treatment. Now she has one enlarged lymphnode in her armpit, her hematologist said that CLL is slowly coming back. Leukocites 7.7 Lymphocites 52% Everything else in her lab results and ultrasound is fine.

FDA Approves Zanubrutinib for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia or Small Lymphocytic Lymphom
Findings from SEQUOIA showed that at a median follow-up of 25.0 months, the median progression-free survival (PFS) was not reached (95% CI, not estimable [NE]–NE) with zanubrutinib vs 33.7 months (95% CI, 28.1-NE) with
bendamustine
and rituximab (Rituxan; BR) in patients with treatment-naïve CLL/SLL

Relative risk for secondary bone marrow cancer within 5 years after initial CLL chemoimmunotherapy treatment (typically BR or FCR)
I can't see any justification for
Bendamustine
+Rituximab (BR) treatment when targeted therapies are available. You don't see this curative effect with BR.

CT thorax results: borderline lymphs
Hi everyone, My father has CLL/SLL from 2018 and had his first treatment at 2019 with
Bendamustine
and Rituximab because of very enlarged lymph nodes. After his treatment the lymph nodes decreaded to the original size.

Zanubrutinib PFS, ORR Is Superior to Ibrutinib for Relapsed/Refractory CLL/SLL
This application was based on earlier findings from an interim analysis of the ALPINE study along with phase 3 findings from the SEQUOIA study (NCT03336333), which showed improvements in PFS compared with
bendamustine
plus rituximab (Rituxan).

2 months on Calquence
There was a time almost a decade ago that I was severely neutropenic from
Bendamustine
, so I'm not complaining about my high ANC, just wondering what my cause.

Treatment-naive or relapsed CLL patients will soon have zanubrutinib/Brukinsa as a treatment option in the EU
In these two trials, BRUKINSA demonstrated superior efficacy versus either
bendamustine
plus rituximab (B+R) or ibrutinib in first-line or R/R CLL, respectively.

Bendamustine
and Rituximab in July 2021, two follow up appts. since then both went well with MRD at 0.07%. I had a Infusaport (port) placed for my treatment.

Immunology Consult? (New here)
First time posting...I was diagnosed w/ SLL/CLL in 2004, treated with 6 rounds of
Bendamustine
/Rituximab in 2012 and am presently in remission. Never was I informed that I have a reduced response to any vaccines due to CLL-I didn't know until the studies from Israel were published in 2021.
