Oh Maw, what rotten timing! I had a hysterectomy back when I was 40 - best day's work I ever did that was. It won't solve all your problems but you will feel one helluva lot better. I can also sympathise with your bladder ulcers - my worst symptom is ulcers in my bladder and urethra and I have to self-catheterise. It sounds as if you do too - you have my love cos it hurts like hell.

Take care my lovely - your boys won't be so far away and you won't have to cook the dinner. Result!

Big love

Sounds pretty full on but glad the family are nearby for you,

I haven't had either of these ops but have severe incontinance and retention and also have to self catheterise. Can't have the op for the incontinence yet as not well enough to undergo the anastetic, Was cathterised last month when in hospital an know what you mean about the catheter rubbing yow !!!!

Hope all goes well and 2013 will be much better for you

Hello Maw,

Here's hoping that Christmas in hospital will result in you being/feeling a lot better afterwards.

I had a hysterectomy when I was 35 (that is long time ago!!) and the surgeon left me my ovaries so I could go through a normal menopause. You can tell from that he was a man!!!

However, after a car accident a few weeks ago and subsequent CT scans they found that I have huge tumours on the ovaries, and instead of them being the size of walnuts, they are more the size of ogen melons!

I am now in the care of yet another specialist, a surgeon/oncologist. He has been very kind and said that another couple of weeks will not make much difference and so off I go into his care mid-January.

At least I can look forward to losing a bit more weight after the op!!!!!!

Lots of love and best wishes to you, and I hope your boys and you have a lovely Christmas. When I was nursing I never minded being on duty during Christmas, because we all went out of our way to make the patients have a happy time as was possible.

I will, as usual, be thinking of everyone in hospital during the holiday season, but you will be pretty much at the top of the list.

Love Suzanne xx

Hi Ruth

I feel for you hun. I hope this is the end to at least some of the problems you have been enduring. At least your kids will be together and can visit you. Your health is much more important to them.

Hi Maw,

I hope all goes well for you, I had a hysterectomy some 11 years ago and it made a difference for the better. This summer I had to have a prolapse repair and despite a very rocky recovery now all is well and things are good, I hope you have the same success and your kids will be good careers and bring the all important chocolate fix while you recover x
