Update and Best Wishes

Have just got out of hospital after three days of methylprednisolone infusions. The idea was to bring me into hospital and give me a boost so I could go on a holiday. Just as well I went in because it coincided with a fairly bad attack, so hopefully I’ll be OK now for a month or so.

Mid February I have an appointment to discuss the possibility of a bone marrow transplant and would love to hear from anyone who has had one, PM me if you like.

Wishing everyone all the best, and let’s hope it is a good new decade for all of us. Lesley

Thanks Lesley & best wishes to you too! Hope for the New Year & new decade!!! Your start to the holidays not the average person’s holiday preparations. I hope it means you can enjoy your holiday.

I’m doing bits & pieces in between being bedridden. Just doing what I can & delegating the rest! Our family put in strategies to minimise the burden on everyone. It works!

Much love xox

Hi, it sounds like our family! I got home from hospital and Mum has a bad back and is bed ridden for now. (Won’t hurt her at 83 to slow down and have a rest). Unfortunately I am hobbling around so we are a funny lot at the moment. Dad is 88 and an amputee but is the healthiest of us all at the moment. Cheers Lesley

Only a person in our position can appreciate directing things whilst bedridden, lol. Worse still whilst in hospital I was going over a checklist with my mother because a bushfire was getting a bit close. What makes me mad is a lot of them are deliberately lit! As if we haven’t got enough to contend with. On a different tack - as you all know the prednisone makes you terribly hungry- I’ve been able to sate some of my appetite over the past couple of days catching up with old friends. All the best, Cheers Lesley

Hi Lesley, just to say I often read your posts in awe and with inspiration at how much Behcets affects you, and how you manage to bounce back. I’m somewhat more fortunate at present and hence never feel I can offer anything of use ... but couldn’t help but say thank you and to wish you well. Good luck with the transplant. I’ll look out for your updates, best wishes

Thanks for that, but please add your “two cents worth” (or dollar, whatever it is today). I think this is a nice community of people who understand each other.
