I have just got over a viral infection and i was greated with the presence of an ulcer ( i was so scared as to what it actually was, thought i was dying) anyways i want to know what i can do to reduce the pain while weeing because i cant wee without wincing in pain and i dont think that is socially acceptable in school, the only thing ive took so far is painkillers but that just takes the gernal pain away.
You guys seem to know what you're talking about so any help would be appreciated xx
Maybe just cover the ulcer with toilet tissue whilst weeing, it’s messy as in your hand gets covered in wee it just wash your hands after and help keep the wee away from the ulcer! Good luck and I hope it goes soon.
Lignocaine local anaesthetic gel is the only thing that helps me - apply it 5 mins before you go to the toilet. In Nz you can get it over the counter (people use it before getting tattoos) or the dr can prescribe it. Also I find gabapentin the best painkiller for ulcer pain. Works on nerve pain which (there are a lot of nerves down there hence the pain!)
You can try refilling a clean small squirty bottle with warm water and diluting your urine when you pee. Try covering the ulcer with vaseline or a cream to protect it while you pee.
Do you have a Behçet’s diagnosis already? If not, recommend you see your local doctor/GP to look into the cause and consider the best pain relief and way of treating this ulcer. Steroid ointments often help the ulcers in Behçet’s but would be entirely wrong and risk making things worse if there was another cause for the ulcer. Good luck.
Hi. I was prescribed a steroid cream and also a numbing gel which is I believe is used when inserting catheter, It is absolutely fantastic and reduces any pain whilst going to the toilet. I also found diluting a teaspoon of salt in warm water and pouring it over your bits was a great help.
I feel your pain! The Lidocaine works (helps) for me but it burns almost as much as the urine does on my gland for fifteen to twenty seconds. Wife says the noises I make scares the dogs. I have had a bad case of gout and this is a different pain but as intense while it lasts. Some have suggested peeing in the shower. I can’t imagine doing that without the Lidocaine because the water burns also but it seems to help some. You’ll find helpful advice, empathy and support on this site. Best wishes.

Hi, synalar steroid ointment for me and when you are like this, sitz baths or just ensure you bathe in warm water daily. It really helps. All the usual things, cotton underwear and allowing the tea to breathe overnight. Hope you get some relief. Best wishes
