Hi can anyone help please?! I start my first inflixamab treatment tomorrow and have the day off from work because they have said 5 to 6 hours for the infusion because it’s the first one. Has anyone had any side effects after the first one? How does it make you feel? I’m just worried about it affecting my work because I don’t get sick pay xx

My daughter is also starting infusions tomorrow, I was going to post and ask the same thing. It’s scary not sure what to expect but just pleased that at last something is being done properly.

My daughter has been off work for months so we are just hoping this helps.

Good luck.

Hi! been doing infusions for 10 months. I have a high dose of 7mb/kg every 4 weeks as I flare a ton. I noticed I was feeling better after the first infusion . it took about 48 hours to kick in. It only lasted a week though for me.

I also have infusion reactions where i get short of breath. This turned out to just be my anxiety and now I just take an ambien when I get there and I sleep through the entire think. No issues as long as im relaxed.

Overall it is like getting super high dose of prednisone without any side effects. I hope it helps you!

I used to be on infliximab. I had a reaction on second infusion so after that they used to give me pre meds and that stopped any further reaction. I just used to feel very tired for the rest of the day so I always used to take a full day off work. Can t say if the tiredness was due to the infliximab or the pre meds. It worked for me for about 18 months but then I started to flare badly so they are currently trying different meds. I hope it works for you.
