The same happened to me. It was only after eye problem that behcets finally diagnosed. Get to see an ophthalmologist asap. I had an injection into my eye - not as horrific as it sounds, no pain because its numbed. He will need to know what has caused this. If he completely blind I would guess a vein occlusion. You don't say where you are but Derby Royal treats me. Center of excellence at Birmingham too. His other eye needs to be checked for inflammation. I am on azathioprine to treat the behcets itself. Keep in touch but push to see an ophthalmologist, and if you not satisfied try another. Good luck

The same happened to me too (but at age 44). I also had an injection to the back of the eye, 60mg steroid drip, put on Azathioprine and took Infliximab for 6 months. After it happening I could barely see out of that eye, over the following weeks / months got much better.

Hi, I am truly sorry to read about your son's problems. As sam0511 advised you really need to get him to an ophthalmologist urgently. I was diagnosed by St. Thomas's, London, in the late 80's/early 90's after suffering several eye flare ups and some neurology problems. Luckily I was serving in the RAF and was living at RAF Halton where the were some excellent RAF Ophthalmologists who treated me with steroids, eye drops, and injections, as soon as the eyes flared up. I have lost most of the sight in 1 eye but if it was not for them I would probably be blind now. Sorry I don't want to scare you but you really need to get him to an Ophthalmologist (if you haven't already). My eyes have been stable for a long time now with a low maintaining dose of steroids. I also had mouth and genital ulcers as a teenager but they are also now in remission and have been for a long time so hopefully your son's problems will hopefully settle down in the near future. There is also a Centre of Excellence in the Royal London (where I am being treated) if that is easier for you. Good luck
