interested in foods that help heal Bechet's Disease

Hey, what I'm finding are the foods that aggravate BD! I'm currently going through an elimination process. I'm taking 4 months with each food group. Cutting out dairy made no significant difference for me but 2 months into eliminating nightshade family (potatoes, tomatoes and peppers) I'm noticing less joint pain and my skin problems are easing. To the point that I don't feel like re-introducing those foods for fear of flaring up again!

It's not easy, my consultants humour me which makes me feel unsupported but I'm seeing more results from lifestyle changes than being bombarded with steroids.

If there was a food which would heal Behcet's disease we would all be consuming it at will. Sadly there is no such thing. Some of us have tried to exclude the usual allergens of dairy products, wheat, solanum, etc.. For some people this works, and for others, it makes no difference. I think this is something you need to do for yourself.

My first husband suffered very badly from Chron's disease, and he went on an eliminating diet, starting with rice, lamb, pears!, and if he tolerated these they would be ok to eat. It was a long boring process, but in the end, we sorted out what he could and could not eat.

INFORMATION OVERLOAD!! But why sit back and and take your Dr's at face value, Always have been 100% proactive thinking outside the box. Autoimmune diseases are triggered by Physiological Effect. Can we curve the disease with +/- plants chemistry and cognitive behavior. "What we eat is what we are and What we say/think is who we are" It one big equation. I do believe 100% for most of the western populace, the air we breath the water we drink have a huge factor in our well being. Life choices can Suck! Because sometimes there isnt a dang thing you can do about it. Nope no, magic plant pill, drink or mental status is going to change things sometimes!

What works for one may not work for another. Myself I try and not take medication unless absolutely necessary which has been only a few times and I have had BD for over 40 years. I eat organic food that we grow, I have merc sol 30c for my ulcers which is a homeopathic remedy, I never put soap on my skin and I use coconut oil too. Our clothes are washed in a natural product so nothing is harsh. I feel that it is about finding what irritates, some things do especially coffee which I don't drink any more. I drink huge amounts of water as this help's with my skin and to a point keeps sores away. We are lucky as our water is from a spring so no chemicals in it. There is no magic pill but I truly believe the less chemicals we put into our body the better we are. You have to understand your body and what it needs, if tired sleep, if something doesn't agree try without.

I eat an antiflammatory diet (google). I also do not eat processed foods nor sugar- including most fruits. If i eat fruit- it is very low sugar, berries and slightly unripe bananas. I do not have an issue with dairy personally, but I know it to be a trigger for others. I also limit my carb intake...no breads, rice twice a week if that. I include coconut oil and anti inflammatory spices into my diet like oregano, garlic, and turmeric. I also eat 2 probiotics a day. I have noticed a huge difference overall, especially for my energy and joints.
