Copper coil help and advise please

I have had the copper coil since 2017 and rarely had a period. Over the past few months I have been getting periods which can last a few days and are either very light or quite heavy. The cramp seems to be worse and I have gotten spots on my face which I have never had before. My partner can sometimes feel the coil whilst having sex and my doctor trimmed the strings but he thinks it’s the plastic he can feel. I feel I want it out but had constant bleeding on the pill , can anyone advise?

Hi by now your coil should have settled down and your cycle should be back to normal. I would advise you have it checked out to see it is in the right place. But when i had the copper coil fitted i thought there would be no side affects but after 4 yrs i am getting irregual spotting sometimes and have had a red spotty rash on my face which i would never have put it dwn to the coil until you mentioned it and cant seem to get rid of it. But do speak to a health professional for advise or an alternative. Good luck xx

Why not simply have the IUD replaced at a clinic ? or at least checked. When you say you "rarely had a period " before - do you mean you had an irregular cycle with long gaps between them ?
