I'm new to this forum apologies if this isn't allowed but I have been Unable to have sex for 4 months

I had the Mirena Coil fitted in December and it was a horrible almost traumatic experience. Me and my partner haven't had sex since then as I just can't do it, has anyone experienced the same kind of thing? Its really bothering him as he's trying to be patient but because I don't know why I don't want to have sex I can't really explain it to him. The thought of sex brings me out in a cold sweat and almost gives me a panic attack, just wondering if anyone else went through the same thing when they had the coil

I'm really sorry to hear this has happened to you, I haven't experienced it myself but it sounds as if you are suffering from sort of post stress from the situation as from what you have said it appears more of a Psychological problem rather than a Physical one. I would urge to go to your Gp, or Sexual Health Clinic as a first port of call and hopefully they will find you the help you need.

In the meantime there are other sensual and sexual things you can do with your Partner, as long as he knows your not ready for penetration just yet.
