I’ve been on the contraceptive patch for a week and have got an ache in my left leg. Should I be worried or is it just a side effect and wait it out?

Hi! I would have examined my veins, don't forget that hormonal contraceptives increase the risk of trombosis.

That’s what I was worried about.

I called the doctors and they said that it should settle down and that only to go back to the doctors if my leg swells or any pain.

Agreed. Examining your veins doesn't help, the risk is for DVT deep vein thrombosis - emphasis on deep. Swelling, redness of the skin, heat, pain, these are the hallmark features

That’s what the doctor said! Since writing this post and calling the doctors, I haven’t experienced any symptoms! Must have just been adjusting to the patch
