I have a problem with urethral discharge and burning (Sorry this is long.. as per)

Hi, I've posted on here a few times about the same problem and it is yet to be treated.

I've been suffering from a range of symptoms for a year and a half, seeming to begin after the treatment of a kidney infection I contracted in December 2016 after suffering from an untreated UTI I believe I had in July-August 2016. I have had gynaecology referals, numerous ultrasounds, urine analysis, blood tests, vaginal swabs, urgent care visits, antibiotics for urine infections but nothing seems to help. As of today, the symptoms I am suffering from are:

- tenderness and soreness of the vulva

- swollen and red vulva, especially the entrance to the urethra

- burning while peeing at the entrance of the urethra

- large amounts of yellow urethral discharge with a strong odour (but NO VAGINAL DISCHARGE)

- itchiness

- sharp burning during sex and when anything (even a cotton swab) is inserted into my vagina (I can't be certain but the inside of the vagina feels quite swollen or at least painful enough in the past year to have any kind of sex without it ending in crying and the inability to walk or sit upright due to the burning for a few hours). I had a sexual health clinic visit yesterday to take a vaginal swab and my vagina was burning for hours afterwards - with one tiny cotton swab!!

- The vaginal lips also seem very red and tender

- Abdominal cramping pretty much every day

Everything has come back looking normal apart from a large number of white blood cells in my urine. There is no presence of culture or signs of infection in my vagina or urine.

I have already be treated on numerous occasions for urine infections and even PID with doxycycline and nothing has helped. (The first few days of taking doxycycline felt like it was working but it just got worse again)

GP's and specialists are clueless. I thought it may be urethritis since all the symptoms match up but the doctor I saw today thought that with the number of antibiotics I have taken to try and treat it something would have worked by now if it was urethritis. She concluded that I could have interstitial cystitis but I am reluctant to agree with her.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME I HAVE LOST HOPE, OR IF YOU LIVE IN LONDON/MANCHESTER PLEASE DIRECT ME TO A GREAT SERVICE TO HELP, THIS IS SERIOUSLY AFFECTING MY QUALITY OF LIFE.

You’re describing a textbook case of herpes urethritis/cervicitis. Go to a GU clinic to get a herpes 1and herpes 2 IgG Antibody blood test. Vaginal swabs may not capture the virus. The only other alternative is a bad yeast infection. For this you can treat with over the counter vaginal suppositories or prescription pills. I would visit the GU clinic to get tested before you self-treat. You don’t need to have a primary outbreak to get herpes urethritis/cervicitis.
