Ive just been told ive got genital warts and ive accepted that fact now but i have some questions about this illness

1) can warts disappear on their own depending on immune system

2) can hpv be defeated by your immune system

3) does anyone know any goood herbal remedies to suppress symptoms

Thanks

Eat super healthy an if you smoke stop. You just wan your immune system in as good a state as possible...sea salt washing the area supposed to help after treatments not sure about it as a stand alone treatment.

Apparently they can go by themselves but have had them for months and they've only just started to shrink/go away now with cryotherapy.

It seem all people are different though. Mine just multiplied and got bigger rather than fix themselves.

The skin virus that leads to warts is very very common. And the majority of the sexually active population in the UK have met it at some point. If you've had sex with more than a couple of people you are almost guaranteed to have been exposed to the virus.

In the vast majority it either says dormant or your body clears it. The unlucky few develop the visible skin warts. These are only a cosmetic annoyance.

We don't really know what makes one person who gets the virus show the warts and another with the same virus not show anything, but they can both pass on the virus (which is why so many people have it).

Good news is that in the majority once you've had treatment and they have gone, if they stay gone for over six months they are unlikely to come back.

Warts do come out more often in people with poor immune systems (smokers, heavy drinkers, people with diabetes etc) and are harder to get rid of in these groups.

Warts also very commonly pop out during pregnancy, but on the whole will go away again on their own once a woman has the baby.

All girls are now vaccinated in the uk at age 13 against the warts virus as well as the cervical cancer virus so we'll be seeing a dramatic decrease in warts very soon.

If you are male and only have sex with other men then obviously you won't get any protection from the national vaccination of girls and may want to go and have a chat with the sexual health clinic or your gp about getting vaccinated.

There are lots of other good posts about warts on here, have a read through them.

Hope that helps.
