My journey
I wanted to share some things that have helped me over the years since my

bloods following bariatric surgery.
My daughter had bariatric
surgery
2years ago. Done really well with
weight
loss
. However despite taking recommended supplements is suffering hair loss, being cold, ratty tempered, tearful and extremely fatigued. Did Medichecks advanced woman blood test. Found to be anaemic (advised to see GP).

Surgery cancelled
I have been on a weight
loss
pathway with the nhs for 5 years culminating in
weight
loss
surgery
booked for yesterday. The surgery organisers had spoken to my cardiologist and confirmed that even though my AF bpm is 120-140, I am haemodynamically stable and I was authorised to go ahead.

bnp level high, breathlessness and fluid in lungs. What does this mean?
I have posted relatively frequently, most recently because my
weight
loss
surgery
was cancelled due to high heart rate(120-130) in persistent af and breathlessness. The gp gave me additional bisoprolol which brought hr down to about 90.

Slimpod feedback, please
I am really interested in whether hypothyroid people with a weight problem have had any experience of Slimpod. I don't snack or eat junk (except occasionally) and wonder if Slimpod can help someone with an underachieve thyroid whose choices about food are already fairly healthy. Have you tried it

enlarged sore breasts
hi - rather embarrassing but here goes! Approximately 2 weeks ago I had to increase levothyroxine to 100 mcgs- breasts are now enlarged and sore. I can’t be pregnant- I happen to of had routine breast scan just prior to meds increase and no abnormalities detected. Has anyone else experienced this

Weight gain
Has anyone gained a lot of weight with hypothyroidism? I have gained about 25lbs and don't want to leave my house. I am basically a recluse. I can't go to town, or work, I just about manage to make it to the store, but struggle because I have no transport and exercise is a non starter. I am always out

Newly diagnosed along with other issues. Due to weight loss surgery.
I had
weight
loss
surgery
10 years ago. Not your traditional surgery, I had a duodenal switch. 80% of my stomach was removed then my intestines were rerouted. Malabsorption is part if it and I’m guessing this contributed to my condition. I’m 53. I lost over 230lbs. So in some ways it saved me.

bariatric surgery
I’m having bariatric surgery in January. I’m currently on a high dose of levothyroxine (175mcg] and am wondering how I keep track of appropriate dosage when losing a stone a month.

tamoxifen and thyroxine
if you started tamoxifen, how much did thyroid bloods/ dose need to change? I know tamoxifen causes fatigue and foggineess but also wondering if it’s thyroid too as I know it can interfere with things. I do have a blood tests in a couple of weeks.

Rather scared. What does this mean?
As confirmed in my bio,I went into persistent af in April after 17 years of problems. At this stage my heart was fine , my last echo was clear. I had a chest X-ray in dec which showed no problems. My heart rate was 120-130 and I was assured this was fine/ normal despite feeling increasingly breathless

AF and Bariatric Surgery
my cardiologist has referred me to a bariatric clinic. My BMI is just under 33 right now. I have underlying cardiomyopathy, and the cardiologist thinks ablation carries too much risk. So I expect that bariatric surgery is a potential solution in this case. According to a medical study I found,

Why it is important to advocate for yourself
I have been on this journey for many years and have shared most of my experience. I want to share the latest snafu, because it is so infuriating. I went through the transplant evaluation in 2021. Completed all the tests and was told this: My BMI was too high and that on the nuclear test, they found
