I 'm a single mom and my son (3 years old) has been diagnosed with autism. He has some chromosomal abnormalities too. Due to his severe sensory issues, he gets irritated if someone touches him (especially on his face). He always refuses to brush his teeth which resulted in tooth decay and he has cavities now.
We had an appointment with a dentist last week, but the Doctor was not able to handle him and we returned.
While discussing regarding this with one of my friends, he suggested consulting a dentist for autistic children in Kitchener ( smiletown.ca/parents-info/a... ).
I have never heard of such dentists and I don't have any idea on how they treat.
Please share your thoughts on this.
Thanks in advance.
