Hiya!

Oh yes I do! Every night without fail and sometimes during the day, I was given Rapinorol by my Neurologist and it was fantastic at first, but I must be getting used to it now as it does still help but wears off quickly, he did suggest another drug in a letter to my GP I think I'll ask to try that next. Other than that I found Co-codamol helps sometimes.

Ah I know how you feel huni, hope this helps xxxx

i have suffered ataxia for 46 years, my partner always complain of me being restless at night, up until i read these articles, i didnt realise my restlessness was due to ataxia...needless to say i will be talking to my neuro and asking for tablets.

Yes Wendy I have suffered from restless legs at the end of some days and in bed before I go to sleep. At the moment I don't take anything (drugs) for it but if it gets worse maybe I will need to. As you can see I only suffer at the end of the day so it might be down to exertion but I haven't done enough analysis.

Hi Wendy,

I’ve had CA for some years. I had ‘Restless Leg Syndrome’. My GP at the time, prescribed ‘Quinine Sulphate’. Which I still take.

Restless Leg Syndrome developed into Leg & Feet Cramps. Which were very

Painful. Somehow ‘Quinine Sulphate’ was OK for the cramps well.

Obviously, check with your GP.

Its not something I suffer with, but have heard that folic acid or iron tabs from health shop can help

Phew I thought I was the only one. At the moment it just seems to be evenings so I have been having baths to relax. I didn't realise you can take anything for it so will be asking at my next appointment.

Thank for you all coming back to me, this site makes me feel like I have an extended family xx

Like Pompey61, I too take gabbapentin tabs. They seem to help. I too get restless leg syndrome at night. I have had C.A. for over 6 years.

Hope this helps.

I was diagnosed 10 years ago with CA. I stretch my muscles in the am and pm, and find this helps with restlessness for me. I don't take any presciption meds, although I do take 600 mgs of CoQ10 daily (per my neuro. 300 mg am/300 mg pm) and don't know if that helps or not.

maybe this should be a new question but does anyone have restless everything my daughter [who is a nurse] often says I act as though I am on somthing sometimes, does anyone else have this problem or is it just me and unrelated to sca

Yes Wendy, I do. I went for the medical with ATOS and the female doctor said it was understandable why it is awkward sitting down with ataxia. It is a shame because I work as a receptionist!!

Hi Wendy

I started with horrible cramp in my feet & legs, I was prescribed quinine but I've been on it for over a year and my cramps are back, but for the last couple of months my legs drive me mad at night time, I've had to move down the bed so I can press on the foot board of the bed... It keeps me awake most night as my asthma does..

I've only just started having aches and pains in my arms and but I've also been getting pains bum cheeks and it so painful :(

I asked my doctor about RSL but she said lets wait and see x

I've had it off and on for years. Last time I suffered from depression it came back bad. Doc changed my antidepressants several times but that just kept making it worse. In the end I came off the antidepressants years earlier than I was supposed to just to try and stop the restless legs. Currently on ropirinirole but can't take as high a dose as I need because it makes me feel so sick. Anyone else have problems with rop? Would love to hear how people cope with the nausea. I do have anti-nausea tablets but they're so disgusting I'd rather manage without, hence taking a low dose of the rop. I take the ropinirole when I get into bed - or just before - and always make sure I eat something.

Wendy, I hope you've found something that works for you. One of my antidepressants gave me restless arms along with restless legs so I know what hell that can be...
