Sheffield neuro visit

Hello friends,

a quick update on my visit to Sheffield ataxia center on Thursday. Let’s say I wasn’t expecting what happened the appointment lasted nearly 3 hours the female neurologist was unbelievably thorough with her examination. My wife and I couldn’t believe it as my normal neurologist appointment is 15 minutes and he’s pushing you out the door. So I had a barrage of blood tests and I’m going back in four weeks for a spectroscopy scan then some further scans on my spine. So once they are in we’ll know a bit more. But my wife is so relieved to finally feel we are being treated fairly and taken seriously. All of our questions were answered best they could. To draw Sheffield thank you.

Take care all stay safe.

Thanks wobblybee definitely more confident that these folks know what they’re doing but also how you are treated with dignity and respect and that is all we request. 👍🏻

Really good news my friend I think it makes you feel better in itself having been looked after by somebody that seems to care and knows what they are doing gives you a bit more confidence you are in the right hands.

You stay safe my friend 👍🏻

Aup Paul hope you are keeping well, yes the wife and I are feeling a little more optimistic about the near future just for clarification on the type of CA and possibly better treatments than I’ve received if any. But it does go along way in how it effects your mental state once someone listens and gives you their attention and then a future action plan. It won’t take away the struggles we face every day but in the short term I definitely feel that nearly 2 years in I’m starting to make a little progress.

Always appreciate your wishes pal stay safe

Hello Elizabethtracy sorry to hear about your negative experience with Dr Lo that’s half the problem with seeing different neurologists each appointment. I hope you have a better experience in May. Stay strong
