Foot massager to increase circulation?

Hi all, has anyone tried a foot massager, the sort on TV adverts, to increase circulation in feet and legs. The idea is you sit in bare feet for a few minutes each day, it looks so easy and improves blood flow so might help cold feet circulation and maybe blood flow throughout the body.I get very cold feet and circulation is really poor. They turn white and blue and it can take several seconds for the colour to return.

If I ask the company I'm sure they would say buy one but if anyone could say their experience of using one of these machines and their experience I would be grateful. Thanks

😂Would you believe..I’ve just watched the advert on TV and passed comment with my husband

I’ve had one for a few years, but don’t use it regularly because it needs to be done with bare feet. My feet are almost always icy and the last thing I want to do is take my socks and slippers off. I bought it hoping it might improve circulation, and help with my painful legs.

In the past..I don’t recall it making a significant difference to my icy feet….although it may not be the case for everyone else.

But..because I’ve been reminded about it, I may use it later 🙂

I have a vibroplate which I use every morning with shoes on and it helps my feet and legs.

I remember seeing your " it works for me" video on the Ataxia UKs AGM, was it 2020? and was impressed by it. Anything that keeps us motivated and moving. I think I have gluten ataxia, waiting for it to be confirmed so had peripheral neuropathy in my legs and feet. So self diagnosed and the feeling has slowly come back with gf diet but I am looking for something to improve this.

Onward and upwards.

I used to be a therapist and used reflexology widely. The foot massager is based on this.

Have a look for 2nd hand Niagara massage pads. New they’re very expensive. They will work on feet, legs, back etc. And you can use them fully clothed!

I have one which I use every day (when my husband isn't also crashing in on it!) I keep it under my computer desk and actually have it on at the moment. The fact that our feet lose sensitivity anyway as we age, apart from our condition, suggests to me that this sort of stimulation must be effective. The vibrations go right up to my knees and feel weird when you first start to use the machine but you quickly adjust. Ok I still have aches, pains, stiffness and cold but it would be quite a challenge for a single machine to solve all that. Mind you, I only use it once a day. Generally, it's a good thing and I would recommend as part of a daily routine. I mean look at Ian Botham!!

Thank you for that, what is the name of machine you have? If you can say of course.

Yes of course. It's Revitive. A bit expensive but worth it in our experience.

I wear compression socks and have acupuncture twice a week. It has helped my body tremendously

Hi Newbie. How did you find an experienced and knowledgeable acupuncturist? Thank you

it took me two years and 6 acupuncturists to find a person that listen to my issues and slowly work on each problem. it is not a quick fix
