Long term side effects after AstraZeneca vaccine

Approx 3 months after l had the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine l had pain in my knees running down my shins and into my ankles, l am in constant pain when l walk, l wake up with the pain in the night when l try to change position in bed, l have had to buy a frame for my toilet as l am unable to sit or get up without it. I have now got pain in my shoulder, both my elbows and fingers. I had x-ray's on my knees and was told by my doctors receptionist l had osteoarthritis and it was left at that. I have tried to search the internet to see if l could find anyone else who has the same symptoms, and if it is normal to just wake up one morning and find l cannot walk properly. Has anyone else experienced the same. I have reported it to the yellow card system.

I’m sorry to hear this unfortunately there are a huge number of people reporting side effects from the j*b . If you can find a recommended homeopath then she should be able to help you to detox from it . There are herbs and things you can take but you won’t find that information on the mainstream platforms like Facebook as it is usually removed immediately. I know of countless people who have had severe side effects, increased constant dizziness seems to be common

This is very interesting. I've just started to have pain in my knee. I don't have Ataxia - my husband has Parkinson's but with a lot of ataxia-type symptoms which is why I'm here on this forum. I've also had dizziness ever since my first Astra Zeneca jab. It is waning a bit now though but it's still there. I reported that on the yellow card system.

I was ill for five weeks after the AstraZeneca vaccine, just stayed in bed. I have pains in my knees too and after the Pfizer just as bad feel even more tired and still have pains in my muscles. I am thinking could it be causing an autoimmune disorder, seems like this to me.Suzie

I think the problem is, not many people know about the yellow card system, l was talking to someone the other day who since having the vaccine, has pain in his joints, he is also now on kidney dialysis every 6 months, was told unofficially that it could very well be the vaccine, but not allowed to confirm, it was not until l told him about the yellow card system that he did report it.

I had an anti nuclear antibody (ANA) test, by coincidence, soon after my first AZ.It was 1:320 speckled which is moderate and rang alarm bells with GP and resulted in a rheumatology referral that of course lead to nothing.

I'm not sure whether my autoimmunity (that I'm sure I have but which doctors are now closing their eyes too) might be due to covid, long covid or AZ.

The incredible thing is I can't get a second jab of a second vaccine. Neither GP or consultant are prepared to say I had a bad reaction to it.

If I booked a second appointment I'm told by 119 that I could be given AZ again.

Day 9 onwards, for 8 months I have needed to take aspirin, it got rid of bad of the horrendous headaches I had for a week or so, and now my continued joint pain. ..and obviously I have only been able to speak to GP surgery on the phone about my symptoms so they have no real evidence.

One said they would help with the yellow form after the rheumatologist advised what to do. Rheumatologist only said I had a strong reaction. ..though I had the symptoms reported as 'adverse' on the news, but was taking aspirin to reduce them. I was too tired and scared to go to hospital so hide away at home trying to keep my head as still as possible.

The system is incredible inflexible. I emailed my surgery, three days ago after my 119 call, asking them to please flag the bad reaction on my vaccination record, I have not heard anything back. They have not even acknowledged my email - so I'll have to phone them yet again.

They are becoming a 'waste of time' and use of my limited energy (well have been most of the summer- saying I now more them about auto-immune disease now - which is a joke as they passed their exams in the past so they can swot up when they want to). Reception staff are more helpful than the GPs though.

I had both mine with A-Z without more that the usual side effects, gone now. There are many conditions which can cause this type of pain, and it would be better to check in with your doctor and ask them to investigate further. I was eventually diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, at around your age, but don't take my word for it as there are many conditions which can cause similar pains. This was long before Covid though, as I'm 73 now.

Cheers, Midori

I contacted my doctor, who eventually saw me, only had x-rays on my knees, was given the results by the receptionist that l had osteoarthritis and that was it. It is such a struggle now to get to see a doctor, having to try and get past the receptionist first.

I know that feeling. I moved house about a month before the first lockdown and signed in with a new doctor, but I haven't seen one yet! Good job I'm not in agonising pain, and can use otc medications.

I've only seen District Nurses when they come to give me jabs.

Cheers, Midori

I have exactly the same symptoms, I can walk but my balance is terrible ,worse than it ever has been. I never associated to vaccine until reading these posts. I assumed it was age related and that I have been on steroid (prednisolone) for nearly 3 yrs for temporal aerteritus, am only on 5mg now reducing by 1mg a month so nearly finished with them. Maybe it was the vaccine, interesting.

Hi ScubaJax

I had both Astra Zeneca Jabs, plus my booster Jab, with no side effects…. I am disabled, using my electric wheelchair when out and about….. I used to have bad knee joint pain through the night until a friend suggested I buy” Masons Dog Oil”(Not advertising) it comes in a 100g pot, costing about £4/£5…. Is in vaseline form.

I rub it liberally into my knees about thirty minutes before bed(front and sides) rubbing it well in…. and get a pain free night….. I buy mine on eBay, a pot lasts me about three to four weeks.

It works for me, it may work for you.

Good luck.

Take care and stay safe!

Don😷😀
