I’ve been a few times in my youth, both my babes were conceived there so I’m a big fan. . So I get that you want to go, it’s beyond beautiful. However, they are all small mountainous islands and pretty much third world.

There is also a lot of stones and a lot of sand I would hazard a guess and say that there is 0 disabled access. I remember it being difficult and I think It would be a struggle Chick.

It’s hard enough on two feet and swimming and water a central theme. It’s also obviously tropical, and they have a hilly mountainous tropical terrain.

A way to see it would be a carribean cruise. Cruises are disabled friendly and fun in my humble opinion.

I can also recommend Adjece in Tenerife. Although volcanic and hilly, the hotels there all back into a sea promenade which is a few miles long, leads to the shops - they are better at accommodating disabled people !

Good luck and happy holidays!

Hi Murcia

I hope I am not too late to the party, lol. I was born and raised in the Caribbean. In terms of the islands being small - as with everywhere else it is dependent on which island you want to visit. Fro example the Cayman Islands are very flat, highest peak is 6ft, and Antigua is also quite flat.

Obviously with it being the Caribbean their will be sand - at the beaches. However, all beaches also have paved roads and side walks where cyclists, cars and such move about.

Am not sure about the 3rd world comment, as with every where you go in life you will always find rough areas but i dont think tourism would be that high in 3rd world islands.

The best advice I can give is to visit a local travel agent and enquire from them - as they would know best which islands are more appropriate for your holiday goal, just don't limit yourself to a cruise just because you aren't 100% certain on accessibility. The thing to remember as well we in the Caribbean are very accommodating and love making sure that visitors leave and want to come back.

Hi Murcia, also a late comment from me.

If you choose an island which is a overseas territory from an european nation. Eg Guadeloupe or Martinique (French) or Curacao or Aruba (Dutch) you can expect handicap Parking and in general fairly good conditions as they need to comply to EEC standards. As to the comment on third world , having travelled a lot in the third world the Caribbean Islands is of much higher standards than third world countries in Asia, Africa or South America.

Have a nice trip :-)
