Hi everyone, I have had cerebellar ataxia for 14 years. I am a member of Ataxia UK and also help run the local branch at Angel, Islington, London. Very central! Hi Carly,

Sorry it took me so long to reply.

We have had carers come along to our meetings, usually with partners who have Ataxia. We have not had children or parents of children with Ataxia.

Just to give you some background, we originally were based in Barnet. I was the only member from the Islington area and I joined that branch because there was nothing in my area. Due to departures and, sadly, losses, the group wound up and there was no incentive for me to go all the way up there. So I started a group in Islington this year.

We are still at the start-up phase and I’m hoping that, as new members join, they will help shape the group and bring their own ideas and talents to us!
