Sorry I have been unresponsive and kind of out of it. My husband very unexpectedly died (way 2 young) and I have much to sort out. Of course this entire saga affected my ataxia very badly. I am happy for those positively affected by Trehalose and wish everyone well as ever N

Hi Neta I am so sorry to hear of your loss , to lose someone so dear unexpectedly is really hard as you have no time to adjust . I found that if I consentrated on the fact that THEY knew that I had loved them , by the way I had shown ,cared and told them then their time hadn't been a waste and some people can go a long lifetime and never find the love or devotion that we got . ( I lost my mum , we had gone to stay with her at xmas a few years back and just before we were due to go back the day before new years eve I went in to wake her in the morning and she had passed away in her sleep with my dad next to her sleeping , so I then had to wake him up . We had known that she was in a lot of pain from her spine crumbling but none of us knew that would happen ) So please Neta think of the positives in your relationship and they shall bring you some comfort , i'm not saying that you won't feel the loss but ,that they knew your love and if you and your husband had planned or wanted to go somewhere .... go and take your husband in your heart and share the beautiful place with him , because i'm sure that he will be right beside you but you just can't see him ! All the best Neta xx

Dear M

Than you for your sweet thoughts. He didn't quite understand ataxia or why I complained so much. But in retrospect I realize that despite its existence he hoped or assumed it would vanish. His own death was (unlike your Mum;s) painless, instant and unexpected although cardiologist--friend told me "there is always a sign". If that is true then the sign was abdominal pain and nausea plus a UTI. But who k new that those symptoms were fatal? My husband followed all the rules. He ate right, worked out a lot and swore off whiskey--which he loved. Gone . But thanks for your kind words and feel well. L,N

Dear Neta, My deepest sympathies to you at the loss of your husband! My first husband died (he was 43 and our children were 12 and 14), so I kind of know what you're going through, although I didn't have symptoms of ataxia then. Anyway, I'm so sorry, as it's more then difficult!!! Take care...

Neta,

I just got back from vacation and read your post. I don't know what more I can add from what others have said, and the internet makes it so difficult to be human while at the same time giving us connections we may never have had.

I offer my deepest condolences and wish I could take away some of your worries. Truly.

You are not alone, and I am certain you are in the thoughts and prayers of everyone here!!

Joe
