My son's TA scribes for him at school. I was just wondering if anyone uses voice recognition software and if it's any good.

Hi there,

If you have Siri enabled on an IPad, this can work well within an app? I use it in my class, as a free option. Even if you don't have Word etc, Notepad works?

I will reply later with a couple of good apps that you can buy too. Can't remember them off the top of my head but will look it up at school later.

Good luck,

Sarah Guy

Android natively does voice recognition. My speech and language therapist offered iPad with costly software. Android software is free. Android tablet cheap less than £100

Hi there,

The other apps that were mentioned were Claro PDF and Co-writer BE. I haven't used them yet but I would recommend Book Creator too.

Book Creator is brilliant as you can build a small book/comic really easily and then annotate it, removing the need for written (although text is also available). This will allow your son to demonstrate his learning or create something to be really proud of!

Good luck!
