Interesting results!

I had some blood tests and the asthma nurse has just told me that my levels of ‘immune goblins’ were low! I suppose it’s good news - but should I worry about hobbits and elves?

Low immunoglobulins are not good, typically, but they will likely discuss further steps with you soon!

It might be ... but it might not. Mine were low...but borderline needing something doing. Ok no-one normal wants to have treatments but at least that would help. Leaving it because it's borderline isn't helpful! Though hopefully they will do something for you! It could be as simple as maintenance antibiotics.

I’m on treatment for low immunoglobulins so happy to try and answer any questions if you ever want to message me :)

Thank you - to be honest, I’d focused more on the nurse accidentally calling them ‘goblins’ than on the implications of the actual levels! There was no mention of any action- I think they’re waiting to see what happens as I reduce prednisolone further. Although she did tell me today to stay on 15mg for the next two weeks and not to try to reduce any further ☹️

They must be goblins that have eaten your immunos! Mine was related to being on lots of pred apparently.

😃 - my thoughts exactly! 🧙🏼‍♂️I think the hypothesis is that it’s probably the steroids that are responsible- I haven’t managed to get below 15mg since January.

😂😂

At least they're keeping an eye on you and they've done blood tests that's a good thing that they're pro active.

I'm stuck on prednisolone too at the moment - been on them since Feb but they don't check anything like bloods so it's really good yours is.

Hopefully they'll have a plan for you. 😉

Thank you! The gp hadn’t done any blood tests, but I was eventually referred to the hospital respiratory clinic who’ve been very thorough.

Quite a while ago I was walking near to a local lake and a lady dog walker asked me if I had seen all the blue/green allergy. I didn't want to embarrass her by correcting her but did think what a dreadful allergy that would be, particularly for anyone who likes walking by lakes! Your nurse's remark about the goblins reminded me of that!

😂 One of my favourite mispronunciations was from a girl in my class who insisted that ‘micro- orgasms’ were what turned milk into yoghurt!

Maybe if you REALLY like milk? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Trying not to laugh out loud in public at that one. I also loved the immune goblins, who sound very troublesome😉

A family friend apparently once told someone she couldn't drive a lorry at work (she worked with horses) because she hadn't done her HIV test. Cue some confusion till they realised she meant HGV.
