It's a well known side effect to the jabs. Take pain relief and rest.

Oh trust me I’m on that. Was meant to be on a driving lesson tonight. Quite disappointed

I had one too after my first injection but I had covid and can say it doesn't begin to compare to the headaches I had with that! It's a good trade off I think! :-) Hope you're feeling better.

Feeling a bit better. Feels like my asthma is playing up coz Of it. Coughing hurts my head

So glad you feel a bit better! 😀 Hopefully it will continue to improve. Coughing etc is very normal as a vaccine side effect too so fingers crossed that and the headache and any other effects will be gone in a couple of days 🤞.

Still feel rubbish. Coughing up loads of crap. This normal

It could well be related to your recent exacerbation rather than the vaccine (coughing stuff up). Coughing can be a normal vaccine side effect but I wouldn't expect it to be a productive cough. The advice is if symptoms last more than a few days then it's likely to be related to something acquired before the vaccine, like when people think they've got flu from the vaccine but actually were incubating it beforehand.

It would be sensible to contact your GP tomorrow to discuss your symptoms in case your recent asthma issues the other week have morphed into a chest infection or something.

It’s white and thick if that helps. Sorry to be so straight to the point just who I am

Wouldn’t surprise me have been quite breathless

That would indicate inflammation I think rather than infection and would go hand in hand with you having the shortness of breath/peak flow drop issus about a week ago. So sounds like you need steroids for an asthma flare. If you can't speak to a GP tomorrow (hopefully they'll see/speak to you if you say it's urgent asthma issues) then phone 111.

I was meant to have a blood test today totally forgot. But tbh would the test even be accurate coz I’m fighting this and the jab. I’m not wheezing though. Don’t understand it. Chest just feels tight

10 puffs has helped a bit though. Least since that’s helped it’s definitely my asthma

twinkly29 profile image

It's not a guarantee but more likely that it is, particularly as you thought your asthma was playing up a week ago.

Wheezing isn't a requirement for asthma. Some asthmatics never wheeze and those who do don't wheeze with every flare. A tight chest could be all sorts of things but definitely needs a GP or nurse discussion given the tight chest, lower peak flows a week ago, increased or new thick white gunk, shortness of breath.

The blood test, it depends what they were testing for - most things an asthma flare or the vaccine will be totally irrelevant. Oops for forgetting but it happens when you're not well so don't worry.

You’re so helpful what we all do without you. I’m assuming you have asthma yourself? Grr that now makes me angry as always told it was

Asthma UK says: "The most common symptoms of asthma: Cough

Wheeze

Breathlessness

Chest tightness

You don’t need to have all these symptoms to have asthma."

You definitely don't need to wheeze - I do have asthma and rarely wheeze. Some doctors are good at acknowledging that but others are not. Using the phrase "Asthma UK says...." might help. It's frustrating though because while not all breathing symptoms, breathlessness, cough etc are caused by asthma (even in asthmatics a lot of the time those symptoms can be caused by other things), when it is or could be caused by asthma it needs looking at but it's hard to fight your corner.

How’s your eosinophils?

twinkly29 profile image
twinkly29 in reply to Dl98

Normal because I don't have eosinophilic asthma. Basically all the tests like those (bloods, FENO) are pointless for me because they show as normal.
