Hi everyone!

Is anyone getting an irritating tickly cough during this warmer weather?! It can’t work out if it’s my hayfever/allergy effecting my airways or just a tickly cough? I m maxed up on fexofenadine 4 times a day so should be bullet proof!!!!

It might be sensible to have a covid test. It's probably not that at all but will need ruling out really as it's a new cough.

Ah that's good. In that case I don't know! It could well still be pollen. Might be worth trying a different type of antihistamine (eg chlorphenamine/Piriton) - but check with your doctor first maybe as you're already on a big dose. I know in theory Fex is 'better' as it's prescription only but, like with asthma, it's a personal thing and maybe Fex isn't the one for you at the moment. A nurse I know was telling me last year that they'd been through all sorts of antihistamines including fex and eventually went back to piriton and discovered it worked beautifully for them.

Also are you on a steroid nasal spray as well? These are meant to be better than tablets for hayfever symptoms and, alongside the tablets, might help, especially if there's any post nasal drip sneaking in from hayfever which can cause a really tickly cough.

I use a cortisone steroid nasal spray during the worst of my seasonal allergies. A lifesaver

I've got some awful post-nasal rip causing a cough at the moment.

Yes I'm actually 2 days into a course of prednisolone after becoming asthma unwell, it eased when I increased fexofenadine so I'm convinced it's the pollen .... but doctor said as its been going in for a bit and I've pretty much maxed out what I've got at home time for prednisolone

Ah the lovely pollen... yep itchy tickly throat/cough, sticky lungs, drippy nose, watery eyes, heart burn, literally not more than few hrs sleep a night it's like being back on permanent pred - I never thought I'd say that again!!! I'm on max hayfever stuff. Was allergic to fex, on max piriton and loratadine but tried an tested the lot. On avamys nasal spray, it's not at the unbearable point yet so can cope it's when I can't stop sneezing, swollen eyes, throat an chest on fire is when I want to cry an live in north pole! 🤣😂🤣😂 but if you do find something that's bulletproof please share!! 😂🤣🤪💫🎉

Im glad its not just me 😅 I look like i spend all day crying, sneezing and wanting to scratch my face off. I take 2 desloratadine a day and then piriton on top throughout the day. Still dont do much! My chest is still tight and I use my inhaler often. But its so nice to be outside 🤣
