hi, actually something mysterious happen to me as I was living in desert country and my asthma still dormant and I was feeling no asthma at all, I am struggle now to control my severe asthma, after I use inhaler I felt improvement but tightness and tiredness always annoying me and most of my time sleep and sit in front of fan and this caused me anger and caused dry in my eyes, yesterday after I shut down heater and stay in cold, I slept all the night without using fan, and woke without any chest tightness, this surprised me, in Saudi Arabia we use air conditioner all the time, I thing this help relieve asthma, also there is no triggers there, when I was living in Brighton and Hove in UK last year, I know I have asthma from animal and grass but I don't have asthma from dust, smoke, or cold, when I became severe asthma I felt smoke became exacerbate my asthma when I smell it, and I became sensitive to many triggers.

Curious! If your heater is an electric one, perhaps it has accumulated dust that is burning, and causing you problems. It is a good thing, isn’t it, that you have found one thing that helps you!

yes, its electric but I found when its cold and ventilated in the bed room it helps a lot in relieving tightness,

It is interesting! Asthma is so different for different people. What is good for one is bad for another!

Hi, I have never been able to sleep in a room with heating on. Or that has had the heating on earlier in the day. I have wondered if it’s due to dust and particles collected in the radiator/heater which then get circulated by the heat? Or maybe just the convection currents stirring the air and particles in it.

I also fair better if the window is open slightly all night too. Although the current trend for wood burners is making that a very difficult balance to achieve.

Some people find that the heating dries the air and so place a cup of water near the heater. (Not sure if that would be relevant to you since you fared well in a dryer environment.)

Hope you improve soon.

I think I can remember I read about this in scientific journal, they said cold in the room killed dust mites and other microbial particles that flying in house's atmosphere, I was using air conditioner in my country all the time because Saudi Arabia is very hot country people cant use a car without air conditioner inside the car, therefore I've never felt any asthma there whether from air conditioner or from air pollutions, once your asthma triggered by grass or animals or trees, then you will became asthmatic to any scent.
