So my sister (who I live with) has tested positive for Covid. I’m guessing it’s quite likely that I have it or am going to get it, but should I start increasing my inhalers as a preventative measure? How have people with asthma coped with covid? I’m not overly worried, my asthma is relatively well controlled now but should I just carry on like usual? Should I up my inhalers/take my emergency prednisone? Should I call my GP for advice? Thanks in advance x

Asthma and covid
I think you just carry on as normal and deal.with an asthma flare up if you get one - many asthmatics don't have any worsening symptoms, some are short of breath for example but it's not been their asthma, it's the virus. Others haven't had respiratory symptoms at all.
It's not a given at all that you will get it - I know of lots of families where only one person has had it (symptomatically for some as was in the spring).
Controlled asthma had been found to be no more risky in terms of complications than in non-asthmatics.
I would carry on as normal, being extra distanced at home at the moment and very hot on cleaning and hygiene. If you get symptoms, get tested and keep an eye in case you need to contact your GP.
Calling your GP is a good idea to be on the safe side. A bunch of us on here have had it and been ok--check the archives, there are dozens of threads on this topic. Take good care and get lots of rest and fluids!
speak to your GP. There is research showing those with asthma are at no greater risk for COVID than the general population.
