Hi

Yes a lot of asthmatics are triggered by cold weather. Even before COVID times I would be using a buff/face covering for when I’m outside as that helps warm the air before it hits my lungs.

Hope this helps

Yes it does thank you it’s just sometimes nice to get reassurance because of my anxiety when my asthma plays up it triggers that to and I go into panic mode

Sometimes just knowing that it's a certain thing can actually help me, eg if I go out and the cold initially affects me, I know that when it adjusts it's often ok - and is like a normal shock reaction rather than asthma itself. If that makes sense.

Yes some asthmatics can be affected by a change in air temperature from warm to cold or cold to warm.

I used to have problems in Sweden going from my home to the outside snowy conditions in Winter.

Totally agree with EmmaF91 being aware of likely temperature differences and coverering mouth and nose with face buff /scarf etc really does help. And would suggest having inhalers close at hand- I have found that there's nothing worse than rummaging in the bottom of my huge handbag for my inhaler right at the bottom!

Hi, oh yes it is worse in Winter. I use an aerochamber to administer my inhalers .

Hi Sara - exactly the same here - every year, the cold triggers the laboured breathing and that does not help (physically or [psychologically) with anxietyIt will pass as it does every year - so stay safe and remember your preventer!

Hi Sara, exactly the same here! You're not alone. I find myself not going out unless I really have to when it's very cold and the scarf around nose and mouth really helps. The anxiety around the current situation really doesn't help either. Can't wait for the warmer weather and the vaccine. Better times are coming xx

Cold weather, with cold moist air, really inflames my asthma.

Yes, any sudden changes to temperature set me off, hot or cold, also low pressure whether. I'm cycling in a Covid mask now - the one that fits the least - as it warms my breath, but still lets a little air in and out.I also have the same issue in aircon offices :(

Don't panic! (At least not about your breathing). You can actually breathe the cold air, though it can bite. We live practically in the Arctic Circle here, and I have to be careful. The worst I find is when it's cold enough that the constant rain is like sleet, freezing cold. Then I have to get home quick. I only have walking as an exercise, and winters are hard.
