Hi i was wondering if anyone had any tips for me please?
I've managed me asthma well until recently when I had bronchitis after having flu. Its knocked me for six and im still having occasional problems with my breathing. Before this I was doing really well with my fitness cycling to work also doing jogging, swimming and yoga. I want to start getting my fitness levels back up again but I don't know where to start. Does anyone have any ideas please?
Also after having several attacks in the last few weeks its left me scared of having another attack.
Thanks Steph

Hi Stepha. If you are having attacks I suggest you contact your GP as soon as you can. It looks as though you would benefit from additional treatment. A course of prednisone usually sorts me out very quickly. Adding additional doses of my preventer can also help, but you need to seek medical advice on this. Are you still coughing phlegm? If so, your GP may want to take a sputum sample to give you a more appropriate antibiotic. And of course there may be some add ons he could prescribe for you to help you regain stability.
There are options available. Your GP will decide which is the best one for you.
Thanks 🙂 im in the middle of changing doctors so I thought about talking to them. Ive had two lots of antibiotics which help and they doubled my dosage of my regular inhaler . Luckily im not still coughing up phlem but my throats quite swollen still which I don't think helps.
Just walk. A scarf over your nose & mouth is essential when it’s cold (and everyone is masked now anyway!) & you can speed up when you feel able to, but don’t push yourself too far. Set achievable daily goals. Good luck!
Just a little update i spoke to my gp and he's put me on the 200 symbicort instead of the 100 and im on steroids for a week to see if it helps. Im halfway through them and im improving so fingers crossed!
