Clenil with dose indicator vs 'classic'

Does anyone else struggle with the new Clenil Modulite brown inhalers, which feature an indicator on the back showing the number of doses remaining?

The mechanism inside has changed and it feels completely different to use to me. I feel like it is not delivering the dose correctly. I have tried just spraying it into the air and it looks like it is doing the job, but it really doesn't feel right.

I think the barrels are unchanged so I have fitted the new barrel into my old inhaler for now, but this is not ideal as I imagine they're not meant to be reused. Any thoughts?

I have ordered a spacer to see if that helps, though I have not needed one in 20+ years.

I can’t think of any reason why the canister can’t be used with the old plastic case. As you say the canister is the same. And as long as the plastic is clean and you still keep a note of the usage some other way, I can’t see why you shouldn’t do that. Maybe someone else will chime in?

I know what you mean though. My new Fostair has a counter and it doesn’t feel the same as my old Qvar or Salamol with no counters. Not as strong somehow. But it must be doing the job. 🤷‍♀️

Cannot say I’ve had any problems. Plus I love the counter. But - I use mine with a spacer, which may well make a difference.
