Just wondering what meds help you with hay fever? I’m allergic to grass pollens at the moment. I’m on prednisone to control an asthma attack related to hay fever.
Unfortunately the grass pollen season is around May - Julyish depending on when the fields are silaged (we live in the countryside).
I take Fexofenadine 120mg, montelukast at night, Seretide 500 & Ventolin as needed. Any thoughts on what helps you is much appreciated🙏🌟😷
Steroid nasal sprays are apparently (according to a doctor I heard talking about such things) more effective than tablets. I wouldn't advocate stopping your fexofenadine or anything but maybe a spray like Beconase would help?
Hi It was suggested my A UK that I use Avamys nasal spray which my GP was more than happy to add to my fexofenadene 180mg.

What is the Avamys nasal spray?
Avamys nasal spray contains 27.5 micrograms of fluticasone furoate per spray. This is an anti-inflammatory steroid medicine, which safely helps to treat the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (an inflammation of the inside of the nose caused by an allergy, such as with hay fever). Designed to be used just once a day, it can prevent hay fever symptoms from taking hold if used regularly. It can be used at the same time as an oral antihistamine, if necessary.
It did give me a nose bleed at first but all ok now. Still do get problems but I'm brittle Asthma so anything sets me off. I'm sure I'd be a whole lot worse without.

Hope you find something that suits you. All OK at the moment. PF dropped to Amber Sunday after 2 days of low green, but been painting. Guess that was the cause and I couldn't smell it. All back to normal now.

Had a small wobble on Sunday but I got to it quickly before it developed into something more serious. Pulse is a bit on the high side today but I suspect hay fever as I was sneezing this morning and woke with a sore throat. Anti-histamine seems to have sorted it though.🙂

I think I’ll up the preventer as per my asthma plan for a little while as it sounds like i’ve got a little bit of a flare going on.

i used to suffer terribly from hay fever when i eat foods that have pesticides and preservatives in them,I used Nasal spray and tablets either wasn't enough.
But when i started an organic 100% diet.And used natural soap and shampoo with no man made ingredients, after 4 days the hay cleared completely.
every year is the same i an eating some pesticide food but when april or may arrives i suffer the hay fever very bad and it takes 4 days to go
i can have a bit of pesticide in a meal once a week when i am clear.the one year i was 100% organic and getting hay fever i forgot to change my soap and the hay fever went.I think its well worth trying.
The price of organic food can be higher and price of deodorant and soap is higher.I am going to try and stay 100% organic all year round from now on.
Cleaning my veg and fruit didn't help me i was soaking them in vinegar but when made came its better to do without if they are not on the shelf.All the best.John
I would suggest speaking to your GP or hospital team. You can take more than one tablet (180mgs) of Fexofenidine. Also I use a steroid nasal spray as well as doing saline nasal washes twice a day. It helps clear my upper airway and stop the pollen sitting in place.
