Well, I had to book up and undertake one today, not entirely sure I did it right I was so nervous and gagged a few times on the swab stick.
I started getting cold symptoms yesterday and was feeling really hot this morning when waking up, nights sleep was rubbish.
Asthma is okay at the moment though, I'm breathing normally, which I'm taking as a good sign, but will await the result and hope for the better outcome unless I need to go back for another swab gag session

Thank you, it was quite busy at the test site too, if I have, the only way I can think I've caught it is from packing shopping from click and collect. The Asda I use don't bag up, you have to bag everything from the crate :/
My result came through in 23 hours - and I had the test done on a Sunday. Amazing turnaround and the shortest self-isolation ever! It was negative, as I knew it would be. Good luck with your results and I hope you feel better soon.
Can I ask what made you decide to get a test? Was it the temp? I’ve had a flare of my asthma and currently on day 9 of Pred which has calmed my shortness of breath and tightness. Still got a cough that won’t seem to go and feel lousy. I don’t really know what to do.
I’m reluctant to call the dr because I really don’t want another course of Pred but think I’m paranoid of the cough with COVID. Fed up!
Yesterday I went to my surgery to have bloods taken due to diagnosis of high blood pressure, when I got home, I started to feel groggy as though catarrh had come on, I also suffer with hay fever, but I wasn't get any normal hay fever symptoms, runny nose, etc.
I went out for a walk yesterday evening, and felt fine, but I didn't sleep well and this morning woke up with sweat on my forehead. My chest, back and head were feeling really warm.
I have a cough too, which I normally have, but my throat is really dry sometimes despite drinking lots.
I guess for peace of mind, I booked into a test. I can't figure the cold symptoms if I've been doing everything right after getting shopping in, etc.

That makes sense, I understand why you would go for one, very strange for you to have cold symptoms though. I hope it comes back negative for you.
I am shielding but my other half works in a supermarket and although we do social distance it’s hard to be 100%. I think I’ll see how I go for the rest of today and maybe give the doctors a call in the morning or 111.
Yeah no point leaving it too long, I'm sure they'd prefer 1000s more negative test results over positive ones.
Please be aware it's rare but severe hayfever can feel like a bad cold although don't get a fever with hayfever
Hi Lcr88 I like you have this horrible cough that won’t go away like bronchial for 8 months And feeling rough had X-ray left airways closed ,I had montelukast 1 at night and 3 Carbocistein a day last month and was still not good then this month meds are put up to 1 montelukast a day and 6 Carbocistein a day which is finishing this weekend, still have this cough I have had prednisolone before for a week ,I am really fed up with all this going on as well as everybody is, and-it’s difficult to have one to one with GP I hate keep bothering them On the phone-but will have to contact them again on mon ,nice to talk to somebody in the same position, hope your feeling better soon
I had one, too, due to significant headache (caused by extended zooming), and a cough (due to some unidentified neighbour burning stuff night after night.) However , I have been completing the Covid 19 survey as many days as I remember, so I highlighted these symptoms. I had also been on a rare trip out (to the local dump - I know how to live!) and some guy there had got far too close and breathed straight into my face, so my husband was anxious. The day after I had reported the symptoms I was to my surprise offered a test! It came back fine, but it took3-4 days.
I’ve been using the COVID-19 app too, develop a sore throat out of nowhere so they asked me to get tested for their research. Mine was negative too, I was really impressed at how efficient and quick it all is.
I had a test on sunday, results back yesterday afternoon. It really is the most awful thing! I had to do my swab THREE times because there was blood on my swabs from my nose, and they kept telling me to wait and it would settle even though I told them the skin on the inside of my nose is very thin and prone to bleeding spontaneously anyway. Hope you get the results you want 
Tested covid-19 positive 2 weeks ago. Only took the test because I’m shielding and had slightly raised temperature (never up to 37.8), but only at night. Did not have cough or loss of taste. Did ache and had slight headache and blocked nose. Took the test to reassure myself. Well that backfired. Despite testing positive did not get respiratory symptoms during active phase of disease. It has slightly exacerbated my asthma after the 2 weeks, but being controlled by my fostair and bricanyl inhalers and montelukast. This is very unusual as usually need steroids and often hospital admission if I get a bad cold or ‘flu. My husband, who is a key worker (we have been living separately within the house) also tested positive, but with no symptoms at all. This is obviously how I caught it. Only left over from the disease is extreme fatigue. 111 doctor says I probably got a very mild dose of the disease as we were being as careful as possible.
Good to hear a positive story related to asthma (as positive as it can be when having covid of course) and I'm really glad you've not had big asthma issues with it. Hope things are back to normal soon for you.

Glad the test came back negative. If you are still feeling like you have a cold, you probably do have a cold 😅. The covid test is only looking for this ‘brand’ of coronavirus, but there are multiple different bugs and viruses about! It’s a relief for you that it’s not covid, but remember to look after yourself like you usually would if you had a cold.

True, maybe I’m being naive but I’d have thought all the precautions I’d been taken for covid would stop me from getting the cold virus?? I don’t know anymore ha ha
You’d hope so, but not necessarily 😅 (I know a few people who have managed to get both viral and bacterial chest infections whilst fully shielding 🤷♀️)
Interesting you mention anxiety. My asthma hasn’t been great this year (I’m still on maximum dosage of Flixotide 250 which is unheard of for me at this time of year), but I do suffer from GORD and I started having problems with that back in December of last year. End of March beginning of April it got really, really bad and I wonder how much of that was anxiety/stress related. There were a couple of occasions when the coughing and breathlessness were so bad I wondered if I had Covid - but no temperature, so probably not. It is now under control through meds (though it took six weeks to get there and I’m still on them as I’m still having to use Gaviscon Advance as well). My gastroenterologist has requested a gastroscopy though it’s anyone’s guess when that will happen.
Glad to hear that your test came back negative though, even if it does leave you wondering where you caught a cold (unless it was from the checkout area which you originally suspected for Covid or is, in fact, hayfever).

I like many others are waiting with baited breath for the antibody tests to be publicly made available, I'd like to be first in the queue.
A week into February, I was knocked heavily by what I thought at the time was a chest infection, it was weird that there seemed to be so many things happening like a really sore throat, but no spots on tonsils, feeling really achy, bad headache, long periods of sleep, 16 hours once, going to sleep short of breath, a constant cough which took weeks to calm down, others are work were suffering similar issues too, especially the cough.
I have to think that was a chest infection, but other than the Doctors Surgery, I've not been inside anywhere else. At the surgery I wore a mask and used sanitiser on entry, exit and back in the car.
Even with my Hayfever which is flaring up, I'm not streaming in the nose and eyes as others are, but I guess being run down, may potential lead to cold like symptoms?

Note if you had a bad infection in February what you are getting now could be residual recovery is no longer infections but body still recovering.
early Dec 18 to mid Feb 19 I was ill early Dec to Early January infection. Took till mid Feb to fully recover had good and bad days but from mid Feb voice went back to normal and energy began to return
