Xolair is working!

As the pollen count crept from medium to very high over the last week, I went about my daily business in the usual fear of not being able to catch a breath (pollen is my nemesis)!

I don’t want to jinx myself but I’ve experienced what I can only describe as rather mild breathlessness (for me) and have barely used any salbutamol. I’ve come to the conclusion that after 2 doses of Xolair, it’s working!

Who else has experience biologicals working this quickly? I still have some way to go yet to return to normal but this is a breath of fresh air (quite literally!)

That’s lovely to hear. Took a few months in my son’s case but it turned his life around. It was like a miracle.

I’m really pleased to hear this! I’ve recently started on it again and am hoping it works for me. Had a horrendous night with asthma last night so reading this gives me hope x

Sorry to hear that you had a bad night. Fingers crossed for you that it works for you! I really wasn’t expecting it to work so quickly. The first 3 weeks weren’t too pleasant, I was pretty poorly and was convinced that I was allergic to it. The second dose that I had the other week has been a totally different experience and a real game changer.

I'm glad to hear this from you. I'm about to go for my first injection tomorrow. I'm really nervous about side effects but greatful for your posts bc it sounds like the SEs weren't too bad for you.

I’m now 5 months in and it’s so surprised at how much better I feel. I’ve gotten through the entire summer without any steroids, no chest infections, no days stuck in bed and barely using salbutamol. It’s also calmed my allergies massively too.

I was nervous before my first dose too but all I can say is to go for it and trust the specialist team around you.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow, I’m sure you’ll be fine :)

That’s wonderful news Mrs.CMK. 🤗. I know how difficult things have been for you over the last year.

Thank you so much☺️

When I started Xolair, my fear was being disappointed by it not working. It’s been a game changer though! For me the ultimate test will be how I am when I’m out of shielding because I’ve been shielding since a week before my second dose.

Absolutely the same as you MrsCMK. I have had two goes and I am exercising, and even pulled some wattle trees (I'm in Australia) which would have normally killed me, and BOOM! I too dont want to jinx it but all signs are great
