Preventer question

So very LONG story short. On trial of meds for possible asthma. See nurse next week to have it confirmed (or not). I've had a precentor inhaler for about 8 weeks. It has helped a bit but I'm still having problems and need to take my rescue inhaler most days. My question is are there other types of preventer? If this one doesn't properly work could a different type? If it's asthma of coarse 😭

Also is it normal to feel worse on an evening and then sleep ok?

There are LOTS of different types of preventer inhalers out there, ones with different steroid bases, ones with LABAs (and different LABAs at that), different strengths, different styles/types of mechanisms. If your reliever I hater helps then it is indicative of a respiratory issue and finding the ‘right’ preventer for you will be the first task you and your team will face 😅.

People’s asthma all work differently time wise but typically it gets worse at night when uncontrolled. Do you find that you have issues pre evening meds then you’re fine? Cause if that’s the case then it’s usually a sign that the preventer is helping you just needs something different/stronger so you don’t get the dip/double dip pre-inhaler (lots of people can also feel dodgy before they take their morning meds too). Hope that helps

Thanks it does. I feel ok am. But when pm meds are due I get dodgy. Take preventer and reliever and usually start to feel better. Didn't last night but woke up with a stuffy nose ☹️.
