Sensitivity to Cleaning Products

Hi all...

I spent the majority of this year not being able to clean my house because my lungs became very sensitive to cleaning products (just cleaning my worktops would put me on bed rest or trigger a whopper of an attack).

I’ve been trying and testing lots of different cleaning products and have found a winner in the METHOD brand...woohoo!! I have managed to use these for a few weeks now with no sensitivity so thought I’d share :)

I use method cleaning products and eco washing up liquid and washing machine liquid. It doesn't irrate my symptoms either. Good for the environment and myself.

I’ve been using Bicarbonate and washing up liquid on my floors. I’ve also discovered e-cloths which you just have to wet with no cleaner required. They’re really good and you can wash them up to 300 times.

Just one eco concern re ecloths. I have used them for years, but though they are so good they are also a man made fibre, thus I assume they shed microfibres in every wash. I did contact the firm, and they did say they did not claim eco credentials on that front, only that it avoids need for cleaning products.

I can’t live without an e-cloth for my windows and mirrors...they’re amazing!

I was really impressed with them on my shower screen which I never felt was properly clean using traditional cleaner.

That’s great! I make my own cleaner with vinegar and essential oils or just vinegar and lemon.

I’ve heard vinegar is really great for making surfaces shine again, although the smell of it unfortunately triggers a wheeze for me 👎🏽

Oh I’m so sorry! That would be rough since I use everything with vinegar now.

Hi koh cleaner is amazing, it cleans virtually anything including ovens, glass stains on clothing. It is recommended for asthma and allergy suffers as it has no smell. Best of all one cleaning product for everywhere in the house.
