Seretide give me many problems. I had muscle cramping and when I would go for a run my calf muscles would tear and turn black with bleeding. My muscles were trying to relax but the cramping action kept them contracted. I would also get severe cramping in the feet and calves when driving the car, long journeys were a nightmare. The other side effect was the eruption of pus filled pimples and boils which could occur spontaneously in very quick time.

I used to have the same dose but one winter I was told to double it to 2x2 puffs, 2xdaily.

The results were extreme thinning of my skin leading to skin rips at the slightest knock, horrible bruising constantly, painful feet cramps and the od thing of blood blisters in the soft tissue of my throat, one was golf ball sized from a fish bone scratch. All horrible.

Since switching to Fostair 3 years ago I'm delighted to say all those side effects have gone, even my skin is back to normal. Amazing.

Good luck to you. P

This is such a useful site. I take Seretide 250 and get terrible random foot cramps. I have never made the connection with my asthma meds!

Neither had I! Until I read about it on the BLF site. I believeit's a result of the steroids in the inhalers. When pointing my toes in a stretch my foot would go in to spasm with toes stretching out in to what I can only describe as eagle claws I only get it now in pilates class. I always take some Fever Tree (because it contains natural quinine) tonic water which helps enormously with the cramp.

I’ve used Seretide for about 5 years now....I’ve also had really painful foot, toe and leg cramps randomly occurring over the past few years..if I take prednisalone I have to be prescribed Quinine Sulphate, otherwise I get really nasty rib spasms..(the first time wondered if it was a heart attack!!) , leg spasms and also arm will randomly go into a complete flexor spasm...painful, and very scary if occurs when driving...!! Quinine Sulphate seems to have stopped this, but I only take it when on pred........

I must be slow on the uptake....maybe I should try and change from Seretide too...a few weeks ago I had a 30 minute wave of complete leg and foot spasm, followed by a few seconds where muscle relaxed, only to contract again....and repeat over 30 minutes...was agony...i wonder if that was Seretide related.....
