I was on Xolair from 2013 to 2017, it worked well in the beginning. I was having 4x injections every 4 weeks, I had no side effects from the Xolair all the time I was on it.

I was able to stop using my nebulisers (4x a day) and I came off Uniphylin and Desloratadine. I had fewer exacerbations and hospital admissions until I had a bout of pneumonia.

I was swopped over to Nucala (Mepolizumab) in May 2017 as the Xolair was becoming less effective after the pneumonia (even though I had my pneumonia jab 2008).

Since being on Nucala I have only had 1 exacerbation which was sorted with a nebuliser & antibiotics and I have not been to A&E or even missed a day off work with asthma problems I have also not required prednisolone since being on it.

Hi Helenalynne

I had my first round of Xolair injections about two weeks ago. My dose is 4 injections every two week.

It didn’t hurt me. I didn’t really notice it the injections and felt fine afterwards.

It’s probably too early to say if it’s worked or not. I did comment that for about 4 nights after having it, I had the best night sleep in over 8yrs! I am hoping it will work and anything is worth a try.

Thank you x

Hey, I’ve been on xolair for almost 3 years and the first 2.5 years was amazing came off nebs and only had one hospital admission in that time compared to the 6-7 times a year before starting xolair. Unfortunately this year hasn’t been as effective for me and are looking to change what I’m on. Xx

My son has been on Xolair for 5 years and it turned his life around. He is still on maximum medication and has exacerbations with colds, but on the whole he is very well and active.

Morning. Just completed my first year on Xolair. Doesn't hurt at all, and for the first time in years feel back in control. Pf back to normal, and now off all tbalet medication, and haven't had to use steroids in almost a year. Guess it's like anything what works for one may nor always work for someone else. Hope it goes well.

I have been on Xolair for seven months and it hasn't quite kicked in for me yet but I'm being patient as I am surrounded by a lot of new allergens (I left the US two years ago and moved to a town and building filled with new allergens and have been a mess so it's possible the Xolair is working but it's taking while for my body to calm down).

I'm in an online group specifically about biologics and a few people have said it took them 12+ months before it really kicked in-

I haven't had any side effects aside from feeling a bit tired right after the shot. Definitely worth a try, for some people it is a miracle drug!!

Just to add although side affects my breathing was better

I was on xolair every two weeks from last July until March. I think it definitely helped my daily symptoms but unfortunately I still had a lot of admissions as I had a lot of infections over the winter in my trial period so had to stop it (although I may potentially be able to try again if we can reduce my infections).

But I didn’t have any side effects from it and barely noticed it going in :)
