What to do?

I’m at a bit of a loss. Two weeks ago my PF was at 92%. Since then it has fluctuated dropping down then coming up a little then dropping again each day, 1 step forward then 2 back situation (still in my green zone). I’ve been a bit wheezy and mucusy over the weekend. I’m tight this morning, gunky and a cough. I’ve had some blue and it has eased the tightness. I’m breathing more freely but not brilliant. I’m now just on 80% PF and know that if I see my GP I’ll be told I’m ok. I believe that I’m on a lot of treatment which normally controls moderate asthma (Seretide 500 1 puff twice a day, montelukast, azithromycin three times a week and mometasone nasal spray). I’ve tried several different drugs for acid reflux and it always makes my PF worse, so I’m pretty sure it’s not that. I really don’t know medication wise if there’s anywhere for me to go. I’m tempted to go up to my pharmacy or call AUK and see if I can temporarily up the Seretide to see if it helps.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated x

Sorry to hear you're not feeling great. Hopefully the pharmacy can offer some advice.

Thanks Butterfly. I’m not feeling really unwell, more annoying, it just that dropping PF can be an early warning sign so I’ll have to keep an eye on it.

Hopefully you can nip it in the bud before you are feeling I'll then. :-)

I do hope your pharmacist can help. Maybe you need a decongestant he/she will know what meds your on so will be wary of interactions. Hope you feel better soon

I think ice cream is called for 🤗. Don’t think it will help the PF but it will make me feel better.

Has anyone looked at food intolerances? I cant tolerate dairy at all it makes my asthma bad. Just a thought. Luckily they do vegan (non dairy) ice cream 👌

Oh dear, now I’m worried. My cat Tiber has come to sit with me. He only does that when I’m poorly, obviously Dr. Tiber has made his diagnosis. He never left my side when I had pneumonia. He could just want some ice cream though😺

Hopefully just a hungry kitty

If your peak flow stays in the green zone, then your daily fluctuations are quite normal and nothing to worry about.

Thanks Suckitup. It was just in the amber this morning but my Seretide has pushed me back into green (82%)which is good news. I may just have a little bit of a virus as I am also feeling tired. Being vigilant though.
