I joined this site because for years my husband suffered flu symptom all year round , after years of this his doctor referred him to hospital to see what was causing his illness But he said to the doctor who saw him you have no interest in helping me I want to see someone else . He was then referred to Manchester chest clinic. Wow at last a consultant who started asking questions and doing test . She said my husband had a type of asthma and asked about his works and job . Turns out the car body shop he worked in used paint that contained isocyanate and it got in his lungs . He wasn’t a sprayer either he worked on shop floor. Anyway after 4 years he gone from asthma to Eosinophilic asthma & lately told he also as Bronchiectasis . He’s been on MEPOLIZUMAB & as recently started on Benralizumab (better known as FASENRA but he caughs all the time

That sounds so frustrating and scary and must be hard for both him to be suffering those symptoms and for you to feel helpless on the sidelines. It's good you joined this group--keep learning as much as you can as you are your only advocate (as you learned with that first doctor!) Good luck and I hope your husband finds some relief.

I have bronchiectasis and asthma , with bronch u will cough all the tome , especially to clear the sputum , I’ve had bronch for 30 years and have manage to eradicate my cough and sputum , I don’t eat wheat anymore and cut dairy to a minimum and ‘this has helped me no end . I take high dose vitamin d with k2 and magnesium and since taking I get about 1-2 infections a year has opposed to 5 or 6. Asthma seems to be my main problem now , I too have had the biological , tried xolair, mep and resilamab but all gave me side affects. I’m not sure I want to try anymore as I don’t like the side affects
