Yes. First time I ever had such a bad time with pollen, and only developed asthma last year!

If I knew of an antihistamine that wouldn't make me fall asleep, I'd try it!

Last year I had to see a specialist because my asthma was so bad combined with a bout of hay fever which was bad. I hadn’t had hay fever really before but last year I suffered so much. He gave me Avamys which helped me greatly because I had terrible hay fever and he changed my inhaler to Fosair. It did work eventually thank goodness. This year so far chest is ok but could be better.

Yes.

Yes, I am allergic to tree pollen but my consultant does not want me to take antihistamine because it would dry out my lungs too much. What I don't understand is how I can still be badly affected when the weather is cool and wet. I would have thought that there would be less pollen then.

I have bad tree pollen hay fever (luckily for me it doesnt affect my asthma) this site is by far the best site for allergy explanations.

Indecently Dr. Morrow-Brown helped get the brown inhaler introduced for asthmatics.

Yes - anti histamine bought over the counter and montelukast, plus adhering to all the hay fever advice of sunglasses, frequent showers/change clothes to remove allergens etc etc etc.

Hi, yes pollen can affect your asthma control as your nose is the beginning of your respiratory tract. The pollen can irritate your lungs. You may find it helpful to take a daily antihistamine and speak to your GP about a nasal spray. Few tips though which may help can be washing your hair/changing your clothes when home from being outside, applying balm on outside of your nostrils in hope that it traps the pollen. Also sleeping with your window closed and wearing around sunglasses on bad pollen days. Remember if your asthma symptoms get worse and you need your blue inhaler three times a week or more including exercise, you must see your GP.

Yes. And allergies to other things, and at this time of year to rape-seed pollen in particular.
