I have been using Albuterol for years because of seasonal allergies. But this year when my spring allergies started I started using my inhaler, and after about 2 weeks I got hives. Doctor gave me prednisone for 6 days and they went away, and now the hives are coming back. Do you think it's possible to develop an allergy to the Albuterol? It is the only thing that has changed in my routine, and for the life of me I can't figure out what is giving me the hives? Has this happened to anyone else?

I can't know for sure, but doesn't sound at all likely to me. Hives in spring sounds like either a new allergy to botanicals (pollen, ragweed) or new response to previous allergy.
