So i never has asthma as a kid or growing up, but when i was around 19 i had a mental breakdown and suffered severe anxiety and i was sitting in a room all day everyday smoking god knows how many cigarettes so then i was told asthma and have been on steroid inhalers since. the last 10 years i have always had bad anxiety and more so around my health so shortness of breath has been a big issue of mine, i know i am overweight and that doesnt help but im going to the gym 3/4 times a week for over 1 hour at a time and i cant tell you the last time i used my rescue inhaler but it has to be over 2/3 years at least. My peak flow is always between 600-700 but yet i am always aware of my breathing. I do have issues with my nose and sinuses and also a lot of mucus in my throat etc. I have also just started running and i did 1 mile in 14 mins which i am told isnt to bad for a newbie
Just looking for an outside opinion, am i looking to far in to this, is it anxiety or asthma or both lol
Thanks for the read hope i wasnt to boring

Personally, from what you've written, I think it dosen't sound like asthma.
It seems that you are doing very well with your asthma, but your anxiety is still a problem so your best bet is to talk to your GP about getting some talking therapy. You may need some help to separate the two issues. As you are making impressive changes with your physical health, I'm sure you can do the same with your mental health.
Hiya mind uk charity website is helpful for mental health, or emailing or talking to Samaritans the charity whilst your waiting for help from your GP. Maybe an ENT appointment about sinuses. And speak to your GP about your anxiety, just keep persevering with the gps. If you don't get on with your registered GP see a different one, each GP as a different specialisms. I have anxiety as well as mild allergy related asthma. Does your health authority have community based mental health services there might be a waiting list, but keep persevering. Also the asthma uk website is good to use 24/7. Take care
