I have been prescribed Fostair after using QVar inhaler for years.

It is making me feel shaky and sickly.

Will this pass, this is day 2.

The side affects will pass. What does of fostair you are on. I am on 100/6 which is all pink. 200/6 is pink with a green cap If you are not better say in a week or 10 go to the doctors and get checked by a nurse or a doctor

Thankyou for replying, I am nervous to go out, the dose is 100/6

I am able to as I have been on it a long time. If you are on two puffs try one in the morning and night. That should reduce the side affects. The 6 is a 12 hour blue inhaler. Are you on a pump or fostair nexthaler? I always carry my fostair with me just in case I need it or I am not going home for a night or two

Are you on a Fostair that can be taken with a spacer? (An MDI)

Normally using spacers can help reduce some of the side effects as more of the drug reaches the lungs :)

I do use a spacer.

This Fostair is pink. 100/6

2 puffs morning and 2 puff evening.

I do use a spacer, 2 puff morning, 2 evening.

Also Fostair is pink.

They tell me to swill my mouth out afterwards, that would be awkward if I carried it with me.

The one I carry with me is blue ventolin, in case of emergency. I don't swill my mouth out with that one.

I also use spiriva in the morning.

I carry my fostair as a backup just in case my blue inhaler doesn't work fully. As fostair can be used as a reliever

Persevere for a few more days and see. Made me quite poorly and had to go back to my original inhalers. I was on 200/6 up to 12 puffs a day, I now Understand is too much but my now ex consultant disagreed along with nice guidelines. Many folk think it's marvelous but not for me. When I see the name fostair I shudder couldn't hold a cup shakes so bad. I do hope you get sorted trying to breathe is bad enough without other issues. Best wishes😊

Thankyou, I have reduced 2 puffs a day down to 1 puff for now, if no good I will go back to my original inhaler, although the nurse said it was not functioning correctly, see how it goes.

Many thanks.

Hi I have recently changed to take the 100/60 fostair inhaler. I too get a little shakey when taking it, but mainly my problem has been having oral thrush because of the steroid! It’s right you do need to rinse your mouth after using, I tend to do my morning dose before brushing my teeth, I do use s spacer but it still happens. Was previously on a brown inhaler each morning and night (2puffs each) with x blue inhaler in between if needed. The blue didn’t do much, that’s why I was changed to the fostair. I have been told it is quite high in steroids so that’s probably why you feel s little giddy after using, but as someone said maybe use it one puff each morning and night instead of two to see how that is!

Hope you feel better soon

Lynn x

Hi I also get awful thrush with inhalers despite spacer brushing rinsing etc. I buy fluconazole online normally £3.99 plus postage for three individual capsules and take one when it's really bad. Are expensive in the pharmacy about £8 for one. This does work. If you desperate give these a try😊
