Advice please

I have been unlucky and picked up a chest infection but it has been caught early. I am taking my fostair 100/6 2 puffs morning, one in the afternoon to breath and two at night. I am about to start a short course of Doxycycline I am wondering if I should carry on taking this until my course is complete

Yes, always complete a course of antibiotics, unless your doctor tells you something different.

I suggest you ring the Asthma U.K. nurses in the morning to get clearer advice. What did the doctor say? Follow their advice! But it is important to finish courses of antibiotics. With asthma medication there is variation how people are advised to use it, so if you are unsure speak to the nurses.

I take Fostair 100/6 as well, was told by the respiratory nurse that if I have a heavy cold or chest infection then I should increase my Fostair to 2 x 3 times a day and if necessary can increase that to 2 x 4 times a day

I was informed that I need to take my fostair 3 times a day to help me breath. Yesterday I got told I have a slight infection as we caught it early. But I am not sure if I should take my fostair 3 times a day as I saw a nurse from a different surgery linked to mine

if the original instruction was for 3 times a day then you should not reduce that, you should check but fostair can be used more and it can also be used as a reliever

I have also a blue inhaler. I have just gone and seen my doctor's who told me to take it 3 times a day as I was struggling to breath due to my intolerance to new pollen. I am getting them telling me if I should stuck to two puffs morning and night or the 5 I have been taking under medical orders
