Just wondering if anyone has moved to a location where the air is said to be cleaner because of there asthma and if it made a big difference.
My asthma in the last year is getting more regular and i wheeze pretty much every day. One thing i have really noticed where i live is there are so many more cars now on the road. Seriously considering moving now to protect my health from all the pollution.
Dead to think what it must be like in London now.

I have been to the sea side for a holiday and there I had no asthma problem's. I still took my meds. I later found out all I was breathing was sea air was just clean sea air you can get. But of course not for everyone. I would recommend you try and see if that helps on a holiday and that will certainly assistance you in making your decision

It is the seaside i have been looking at where there is low pollution. When i went on a canal boat in the middle of the country on holiday my breathing was miles better. I live between 3 major cities in the midlands which can't help.
I was on Southend on sea Essex. It's a beautiful place. That is where I found this out my asthma behaved like it always does. I recommend try there and if it helps again then you have your answer. I wish you the best of luck with your decision
Well I had asthma when I lived in London and I found the traffic pollution made it worse. When I go back for a visit I find this too.
I moved 22 years ago to live by the seaside but in a small town and I haven't had any real problems with it so I would say it has helped. Don't forget though that any place by the sea has more of an oceanic climate and the winds and damp are not nice! x

I’ve a severe asthmatic and have recently moved from Inland Essex to the north Norfolk coastline.
It has definitely had an affect! Despite it being more windy (and maybe a bit colder) I have had days where I can acknowledge that had I still been in Essex I would have been in hospital whereas I’ve been able to manage at home!
Definitely advise it if you’re already looking to move! X

That's similar to me. Moved from Cambridgeshire to North Yorkshire coast and, last June, being in the south for house sale completion was so very different to being on the coast. Yes the pollen count was horrendous up here as well but at least the air moves!
I know North Norfolk well too as my grandparents lived along from Cromer - and Addenbrooke's actually as was referred on to there because of my difficult asthma! Small world!
Thompson, I've also found mountain areas better for me, if not too high, because the air is clearer.
Thanks for all the replies everybody. North Norfolk was the area i was look as it has one of the lowest pollution records in England and the sea air i am sure would help.
I work in Edinburgh and stay in there. I'm new to asthma and thinking pollution could be a trigger. Might have to rethink this.
try out an area before moving. I thought that moving to the country might be better as there would be less pollution but what I didn't realise was that I was allergic to birch pollen and hazel and the area we moved to has loads of birch trees and hazel!
Sea air is definitely good but make sure any accomadaition doesn't have mould from damp. It is far from easy finding somewhere with no triggers.
Does asthma severity tend to reflect that of sinuses?
