Mepolizumab

I’m on my 18th mepolizumab injection and I am delighted to say that there has been a significant improvement in my asthma condition however I've come up with spots and acne on my face. My GP thought it could possibly be caused by the effect on the immune system as a result of the mepo. I was wondering if anyone has had the same side effects.

I would bet it is the mep, my eczema flared on mep and I got terrible pains in legs and arms , 3 months off and I’m still having issues with arms , I’ve been told I have a frozen shoulder , I think brought on by mep , I refuse to believe it’s a coincidence because I have it in both arms

Hi josephone, I had my 6 injection of Mepo last week. And I too feel the improvement, I only had problems after my first injection a slight chest infection, but since than nothing that I have problems with. I hope that I can continue the injection, see my Doctor in hospital next week. I think that my health has improved, I had not one infection since last year, I get a bit of a cold but I don't need to take antibiotics or steroids, this is a big improvement for me.

I hope your spots will leave again, when did they appear? I was told by the nurse when I started that I shall call the doctor or come back when I have red or blistering skin rash, I didn't read side effects about spots or acne. 🌹🌹🌹

Thanks for your reply and glad your asthma has improved. I’m on my 18 th injection and my spots have disappeared following a course of antibiotics. Take care
