What i thought was a bit of an asthma flair turned out to be a full attack! Out of hours sent me to a n e where i had nebs and magnesium. Unfortunatly i reacted to the magnesium with really low blood pressure and high hr. Anyone else had a reaction?

I am currently awaiting a bed and the pred paranoia/rages are in full swing 😣 I have been informed im here for the next two days so am conducting my interview for uni over the phone from my hospital bed πŸ˜‚

Hope everyone else is having a better time with their asthma!

Ugh no, terrible timing! Hope the interview goes well. Silly lungs but st least they seem to have treated it properly.

I usually get high HR and random low BP swings in attacks but thought it was the asthma not the mag! Last time the dr told me the low BP is a consequence of the high HR.

I was given mag once to *lower* HR though the dr giving it was adamant I wasn't actually having an attack and it was just for lowering HR - my HR did come down because I breathed better after the mag, so not sure it really lowers HR (I looked it up and has been useful in correcting other arrhythmias but not sinus tachy).

Hope you keep getting the nebs etc ans get a good team- yay for proper bed!

Thankyou, dont know whats going on as my bp is still low and hr still high πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ cardiac moniter for 24 hours and a million ecgs. So lucky this time as i have had back to back nebs and now being moved to an actual respiritory ward. Unfortunatly ive rearranged my interview as ive had to admit im just to ill to make any actual sense πŸ˜‚

Ugh but probably better to do it that way as I know I wouldn't make a good job of it. I did do a job interview once after taking about a million inhalers and a couple of bad hospital experiences, and it wasn't the best! Good luck for the rearranged one.

I often get the joys of the monitor - damn thing beeps constantly! Hope things calm down soon and you can get off it as everything starts to work.
