A post to make you smile. I can see that some of you are having a very tough time. Welcome to my other hat that of a Star Trek fan. :-).

Destination Startrek convention at the Nec today. Dress up of course know as cosplaying with my daughter. I went as major Kira 25 years on from deep space nine.

Love everything the costumes, massive posters, costumes and props. Plus the badges and the gaming both virtual and board games. All inclusive with every one and all disabilities including a man with Mnd (my brother in law died from this last January) in a sophisticated wheelchair and breathing apparatus.

Happy me but tired feet home now with a good cup of tea. Live long and prosper.

P.s tribble ate my lunch

Oooh. So how many tribbles were there when you left? ;) Love the DS9 tribble episode complete with clips from TOS tribble episode. Mortal enemies of the Klingon Empire... ;)

Glad you enjoyed it - never been to a convention but definitely something of a Trekkie though not into all the series.

Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. My mum's cousin died from MND in June - it's horrible.

So cool! I love Star Trek. I went to the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas. It felt like being in the most awesome place in the Alpha quadrant. I ate in Quark’s diner. I wanted to take a tribble home but bought a Klingon dictionary instead. It sounds like you had a great time too. Thank you for making me smile 🖖 Live long and prosper.

Oh lucky you would love to go to a Star Trek convention! But I am only a fan of the original series and many of them are gone now. I couldn't get into the later series at all. Have you seen William Shatner or any of the others. I would love to have seen Spock (Leonard Nimoy) but he died a couple of years ago now. Scotty and McCoy have been gone even longer. Such a shame. x

Thank for the comments. I love the original series, next generation, deep space nine and Enterprise. Don't know anything about the new discovery as it's on nextflix. There was alot of famous startrek stars there. William shatner and Nichol Nicholas and others from new generation Nana visitor (aka Kira). Lined up to do autograp signing. £20 a signature and the pay for session with actors on stage by ticket only.

Lots of free talks with europeon space s agency and costume talks.

It's on next year too if anyone interested. I think startrek been given a boost with the new series Discovery.

Already thinking of what to cosplay next year. More major Kira I think. Need to get the 👃 right.

Space is the new frontier and I hope and pray Asthma is going to be cured in the new future for us all. Have a blessed day.

It's very disappointing the new Star Trek is only on Netflix and doesn't seem to be released on DVD even. I read about it in the Star Trek magazine and it sounds really good.

Space is the new frontier, some people say it's a waste of money but it's about the only place humans seem to get on together and cooperate internationally, and there are health and other benefits from what's being learned on the space station. We're not quite at Gene Roddenberry's vision of humans overcoming our differences and wanting to better ourselves but cooperation in space still offers that glimmer of hope.

The new Star Trek discovery will be available on DVD on the 16th November. So you can see it.

Space can be the new frontier but we haven't explored all of our planet yet including the seas deepness parts. This is now happening soon with the new project to go down to the depths where the signals will take 7 seconds to reach the surfaces like sending signals from the Moon.

I agree we are not there yet but we keep trying and keep striving to become better. Its not impossible but will take time. I believe with God help we can get there.

Thanks for the DVD info. I'd kept looking to see if it was available but there was no sign of it, or for pre-order, so I'd given up looking.

I haven't so much been following the adventures and exploration of the ocean but that really is the undiscovered country, and I think NASA have been doing some ocean exploration too. There's so much to learn and discover about so many things. May God grant us the wisdom to learn to better ourselves and get on with each other so that we can explore new worlds together instead of fighting over this one 🖖

Hey how are you doing? I hope things are as good as can be? I went to visit my brother for 2 weeks in May. He has Netflix! So you guessed it, I watched Discovery. Have you seen it? I'd bought the first season on DVD after you pointed out it was available to preorder but hadn't seen the second season. I watched it there. It's really good! I think I possibly liked it more than Season 1. Anyway it made me think of you 🖖

Hi Hungryhufflepuff things are a bit tough at the moment as my asthma has gone through a flare up starting in April and last month. I had 5 courses of prednisolone through this but I hoping and praying that its okay. I am reducing down to zero in the next couple of days. The doctor I saw last week wants me to come and see him when I bad. Of course I don't want this to happen and if it does then it will be in daytime hours so he can see me 'bad'. I having a manometry and PH study 24hrs a week on Monday to look at my acid reflux plus starting on medication for my bones (to protect me against the inference of steroids stopping me make new bones).

I would like to watch Discovery and maybe at some point I will. I will be going to the next Star trek convention in Birmingham in October, cos playing of course. No sure which character I do love Major Kari who went as last time.

God bless and enjoy the beautiful summer weather.

I'm really sorry to know things haven't been great for you. Especially being on the dreaded Pred. Wishing you all the best for the tests next week 🤞 At least someone's thinking to keep an eye on things.

It's so exciting you're going to another Star Trek convention. Please share some pictures? If you'd like I could lend you my Discovery Season 1 DVD (if that doesn't sound weird and creepy?) (You can give me your address in a private message) You can just send it back to me whenever you've watched it. Distraction therapy when things get bad is always good 🖖

And I meant to say my brother thought Netflix are making a third season, but I don't know if he's read this somewhere or if it's just wishful thinking. Let's hope he's right! 🤞

It reminds me of an old episode of 'Just Good Friends'..."I'm a vegan - I bet you don't even know what a vegan is, do you?"

"Of course I do...I never missed an episode of Star Trek."
