Hi all as my mum would say you learn something new everyday. I just found out there are more than one kind of Prednisolone tablet. I usually take the ordinary one but there is a dissoluble one and a coated one. Advised to change over to the coated one as I suffer from acid reflux and they are know to be hard on the stomach.
All this new information is due to a call to asthma uk helpline this morning who told me about these. I been to the doctors this morning and now have a new prescription filled and have these coated tablets.
Thanks once again to Asthma UK.

I’m on the coated one (it’s red pred!). It ‘tastes’ a lot better (like smarties) and you’re less likely to get worsened GI problems.
They also do 20mg tablets of non-coated pred however they don’t like giving them out due to the risk of overdose (ie taking 8 tablets instead of 2). I once managed to bag some from my hospital tho and thoroughly enjoyed only 2 tablets of pred a day for a few days!
I found out about red pred from a friend and got prescribed it when I asked. My GP was a registrar at the time and had never heard of it 😅
