Red rash

Hi

I’ve had asthma for a couple of weeks now and I’m on a blue and blue inhaler. Plus I use Olbas oil as a massage oil at night. Over the last couple of weeks my knuckles have hardened and over the last couple of days I’ve developed a red blotchy rash on my hands. This morning the rash has spread to my arms neck upper chest and upper legs. Has anyone had the same problem?

It could be the oil stop using it and see what happens..

Thank! I thought it may be but it’s the only thing that’s giving me relief at night and helping me breath better. Are there any alternatives?

I use a herb called neem ... I get it at the health food store.. You take olive oil let the neem soak in the olive oil for about three weeks in a dark room I put my in the cupboard .. Keep turning you jar every day ... This is to get a oil out of a herb... You take what you need ... warm it up to it is nice a warm and rub on your chest.... When I'm sore I will warm up enough to rub all over me then take a hot shower.... It feels great you can do that with any herb to get the oils out .... .. At least you know there is no garbage in it....It helps get toxins out your pours open wright up....

Sometimes it maybe okay to use as an inhalant but not directly on the skin. Most oils are quite strong. Eucapylus inahled or Vick can help as well as steam inhalataions prior to going to bed. I used to use olbas oil on a handerchief rather than directly on the skin.

Is there any other decongestant that anyone can recommend?

Hi

You could try Vicks vaporub and see if that works as well as the olbas oil.

Alternatively if the olbas oil is helping (minus the skin irritation) you could try putting it on a tissue/pillow etc to put near your head when sleeping (however don’t sleep on the pillow in case of contact allergen).

If you stop the olbas but the rash doesn’t go, speak to your GP and get them to have a look - could be a different allergen, a side effect from a drug or could be a sign of an virus/infection of some sort 🤷‍♀️

Hope it clears up soon x

Thank you! It looks like it was due to the Olbas oil bath as it’s clearing up!
